“Song of the Selkie”
Set across two time periods, this atmospheric Scottish film follows Isla, a young girl who returns to the Scottish Highlands with her father and becomes drawn into the mystery of the Selkie, the legendary shape-shifting being of Celtic folklore. Told through a blend of English and Scots Gaelic, the story weaves family, place, and myth into a haunting exploration of identity and belonging.
Rooted in Highland landscape and folklore, the film combines coming-of-age drama with supernatural mystery, using the Selkie legend to explore memory, heritage, and the emotional pull of the past.
