“The Other Side of Paradise”

The Other Side of Paradise is an intimate diary film shot on Super8, tracing summer days spent on Andros island through drifting images, field recordings, and a voiceover that lingers somewhere between memory, confession and documentary observation. Beneath its serenity runs a quiet unease: water shortages, climate strain, and a subtle grief for what feels both fleeting and already changing.

About the director

Chloi Kountouridou (b. 1996, Greece) is a multidisciplinary artist living and working in London. Working across photography and moving image, her practice spans documentaries, video essays, and diaristic films that often draw from her immediate surroundings. Using both analogue and digital formats, she constructs layered and intimate narratives that explore memory, displacement, and the subtle instabilities of place, often allowing image and sound to drift and fragment.
