“Close”
Keane finds a box of his absent father’s negatives. He prints the images in a darkroom’s red glow. As he and his mother Diane look through distant exposures from the half-past, the prints expose a life that was always out of frame. Closure leads them back to the shoreline, where Keane reframes what remains.

About the director
I was born in Belfast in the early 90s, but live and work in Scotland. I studied philosophy at university, and make film as a means to explore it further. I love stories that explore memory, closure and journey. Close is my first serious effort at articulating that vision.
