Director’s Statement

Interfon15 explores our anguish in the face of nothingness, of trying to maintain with our reason what is absent. I wanted to describe ghostly territories which we try to inhabit by communicating ourselves to our neighboring ones. The film reflects on language breeding illusion, relying on the prostheses of our preconceived understanding of reality. As for the film language, I am interested in the fluctuation of different genres meeting in a collage cinema that invites unrelated traditions of expression. It is important for me to mistrust reality, presenting the ordinary with mystery and the familiar with displacement.
