“Mearcstapa”
This atmospheric psychological drama follows Sean, a man trapped in the quiet comfort and emotional stagnation of suburbia, as he becomes increasingly haunted by visions from his past. As these memories intensify, Sean begins to transform into “Mearcstapan,” a figure inspired by the border-walkers of Beowulf, caught between worlds, identities, and states of being.
Blending myth, literature, and contemporary unease, the film explores masculinity, trauma, alienation, and the hidden darkness beneath ordinary life. Drawing on Old English mythology and psychological horror, it is a haunting story about suburban discontent, inner transformation, and the pull of something ancient and untamed.
