“Lonely City”

This character-driven drama follows taxi driver Zhang Zhiyong as he moves through the city, picking up a series of passengers whose journeys reveal lives marked by longing, loss, and quiet emotional struggle. Among them are a woman searching for her missing husband, a young internet celebrity looking for her father, and a security guard scattering his father’s ashes into the river.

As each encounter unfolds, the taxi becomes more than a vehicle—it becomes a moving space of confession, memory, and human connection. Through these intersecting stories, the film explores loneliness, family, grief, and the hidden emotional lives of ordinary people. It is a poignant urban drama that presents the taxi ride as a journey through modern life itself.
